These are general English classes for ages 16 and up (high school age and up).  At the CLC, English is taught based on the Communicative Approach. The next trimester is the Winter 2010 trimester, from January 4th - March 11th. To register you will need your National ID Card, one photo, and payment in full.

How to sign up for classes at the CLC:

Classes at the CLC are offered every trimester.  Every term is 30 hours of class time.  Term Registration dates Class start and end date Spring 2010   March 1st - April 5  April 5th - June 15th  Summer 1 2010       Summer 2 2010     Fall 2010     Winter 2011     1-Determine your level.  New students can take a placement test to determine their level at the CLC.  The test takes only 30 minutes.  To sign up for a test call the CLC administration at 0524-44-76-91. Results are given immediately.    At the CLC there are many levels:  Each level is 30 hours.  Beginning 1- Beginning 6 Beginning Certificate of Achievement. 3-Prices: Payment is due in full at the time of registration.  Payment can be made in cash or by check.  Students can choose to pay for one trimester or for a full year.  An economic or discount rate is available, see table to the right.

More information on the Communicative Approach to Language Learning:

The goal of language courses at the CLC is help the learner develop communicative competence: the ability to use the language naturally, as well as to understand what language is appropriate and normal to what situation.

 This means, in practice:

1. Although reading and writing are included as skills, our courses emphasize the spoken language, conversation, and oral production.
2. Although grammar appears, it is not emphasized. Rather the emphasis is on helping the learner acquire the words, phrases, and expressions needed for communication as well as the ability to pronounce them in an understandable, natural manner.

3. Instruction is student-centered as much as possible. This means that the students are active participants in the classroom, involved in conversation, group and pair work, problem-solving activities, songs, games and other means that make acquiring the language enjoyable.
